Basic Rights & Freedoms

To all of you who are worried about losing your basic rights and freedoms to a socialist government takeover that seemingly “ignores” the U.S. Constitution, Consider this:

Many of us not in the “wealthy elite” class have already lost many of our most basic rights to LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS as a result of an obstructionist capitalistic money, power and control takeover of the Federal Government (most notably by Wall Street Investors, U.S. Corporations, and the GOP controlled Congress). As a result, these misguided souls and their closed minded ideologies seem totally immune to necessary changes to respond to the real world global socioeconomic system that begs for a government to adjust to realistic changes.  Furthermore, these fearful folks who cannot see beyond their closed minded perspective are filled with mistrust and fear of one’s neighbors, and seem to view life only in terms of Capitalism, the U.S. Constitution, and the resultant money, power and control of the masses that these institutions have created. Now consider this…

First of all, the word “socialism” is a hot button demonized word made totally fearful to the average citizen by the ruling classes who are afraid of losing THEIR power and control of the masses they have already had in place for generations…

You think you are going to lose YOUR freedoms and rights to an “insidious socialistic takeover?…Please think again and consider the following:

  1. The U.S. economy is starving for money for worthwhile projects such as entrepreneurial development of renewable clean energy technologies that could have freed us from Big Oil dependency 100 years ago… As a result, our basic right to a clean environment is severely compromised…
  2. Healthcare under capitalism in the U.S. has severely deteriorated over the years for many reasons, but the right to have access to basic and reliable healthcare for many has been stymied due to lack of money that is funneled to pharmacy companies, insurance companies and the wealthy elite, etc. who don’t really need it to enhance their personal lifestyles…
  3. Money for education at all levels has declined dramatically over the last 30 years, and as a result, the masses in the U.S. are denied their basic right to quality and adequate education… Therefore the average U.S.  citizen is not only denied the quality of education that responsible teachers are deprived of teaching, but also is often saddled with the economic burden that college students must face after graduation…
  4. Violent crimes continue to take their toll on the masses because there is not enough money to provide adequate education, physical and mental healthcare to prevent the gap between the wealthy and the poor. The middle class have seen a steady decline in their basic rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness due to lack of opportunities for adequate employment and income to provide for these most basic of human needs.
  5. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness assumes that all U.S. citizens have access to at least the basics of food, clothing and shelter plus some form of adequate healthcare that prevents many untimely deaths. Because of the unemployment situation and an unhealthy environment taking their toll on many citizens who would otherwise work at a decent and desirable job with adequate benefits in a healthy environment, many have lost their homes to foreclosure and created a burdensome welfare class that could have been avoided.  These ECONOMIC RIGHTS have been denied many for generations because A. the wealthy elite have stolen or unethically hoarded money through tax loopholes that should have gone for the basics for everyone, and B. The obstructionists in Congress refuse to allow allocations that can solve these issues by creating desirable employment with adequate and reasonable benefits for everyone who are willing to work responsibly in exchange for freedom from poverty, and their basic rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in a reasonable and responsible manner…
  6. Money has been wasted on unnecessary wars over the years such as the wars in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan… The money spent on these wars and other unnecessary foreign aid should have been used to strengthen the U.S. economy so that our nation could help set the example for other governments by attending to the needs of our citizens first.  By having a strong economy in the U.S., we would be in a much better situation to help out with other countries on an economic basis, but not to participate in any foreign wars, since the evidence is in that the FEAR of “terrorists” is the real threat, and not the so-called “terrorists” themselves. As a result, it is the fear and mistrust of one’s neighbors that stymie us and head us all back towards the dark ages, leading to the breakdown of sensible economic growth.

“Socialism” is an irrationally demonized word. Fear of a socialistic state takeover has been the most insidious lie ever perpetuated upon the citizens of America, and has been the root cause of economic and social breakdown in the U.S. because of the fear that socialism inevitably leads to communism or fascism…Nothing could be further from the truth, since many have good reason to believe that it is the money, power and control mechanism that capitalism has allowed to be foisted on the masses that turns out to be the real problem. This gross misunderstanding in itself has sent the U.S. backwards toward the dark ages and puts us perilously close to a FASCIST takeover by the VERY PEOPLE WHO ARE MOST WORRIED ABOUT a socialistic takeover. The fear and mistrust of one’s neighbors leads to a ferocious scramble for guns under their overblown paranoia exerted by the NRA and their cohorts regarding “gun rights” that seemingly will not allow sensible gun control to be put into effect.  Could it be that these extremists might have an ulterior motive in the form of a revolution and overthrow of our present federal government? If so, then the obvious question any sensible person should ask is…WHAT KIND OF GOVERNMENT would  they offer to replace it?…

Listen up, folks: Compassionate Socialism is not “socialism” as the world has known it for generations, nor does it lead to communism…the opposite is true…Compassionate Socialism uses the best ideas of a theoretical Compassionate Capitalism PLUS a more sensible means of distribution of goods and services under a socialistic type of delivery system that would lead to a new and much better and more efficient world government that would GUARANTEE THE RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS afforded by the U.S. Constitution with some minor adjustments, and certainly (NOT the New World Order by any means), but just the opposite…a truly benevolent and compassionate system that would work for everyone, …not just the wealthy elite. Please compare these ideas with what you would do if you were a world leader and could change the system dramatically for every woman, child and man on the planet (or at least in the U.S. of America for starters). Let me know if you have a better plan. I would be interested in discussing ideas in a spirit of mutual respect for the way we each see our world view…(Everyone’s perceptions are of equal value and everyone’s ideas are worthy of REAL respect, because they are all based upon personal experience, personal values and personal observations… Let us all present our thoughtful considerations out of respect for all others, and let us compare ideas, not escalate into arguments…(a much more sensible approach, don’t you think?). We are on the brink of a global transformation and it’s all good news. Let us all work together to make it happen sooner rather than later, because it is inevitable, and will benefit all of us through mutual understanding and mutual cooperation…Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this entire blog…Sincerely, Alan Halverson: alan@starlightpoint.com
